A Lawyer
I wish I could go to sleep and wake up as someone else. If I could be any person in the world, I would like to be a Lawyer because I could speak to people about their crimes and they can tell me about their offences so that I could help them with the law.
Morayo Ige (1st grade)

My Robot
Hello! I am the one who invented Dipsy. Dipsy is my robot’s name.
My robot can sweep the floor . She can mop the floor. She is automatic. Dipsy sometimes changes into a horse and gives me a ride.
Sometimes I don’t like her because she treats me like a baby. But she is kind. She does my homework for me and takes me to school.

My First Invention
Hi, my name is Kemi. I invented a robot called Autorobot. My robot flies in the air. He skips over tall buildings. Do you know anyone who can do that?
My robot can turn into a car, an airplane or a bus. Autorobot carries heavy stuff. He saves people who are stuck in a fire. My robot directs traffic. Autorobot drinks lemonade from his ice crusher.
Autorobot gets tired sometimes, so he brings out his automatic bed to sleep. He has an alarm clock that wakes him up. He helps me so much.

Noor Khalil Interviews Mr. Imad Khalil

Noor Khalil (4th. Grade)
“Hi, My name is Imad Khalil”, he states. With a proud smile he adds, “I’m married with four children, two boys, and two girls, a manager of a company with little time to enjoy my favorite hobby – football”
Putting his hand on his chin and stroking his moustache, he says, “My best past-time is spending time with my family. The person who inspired me was my father”. And with a sad look on his face he says “My saddest moment was when my father died”.
At this point, I changed the topic and began to ask questions in a lighter mood:
Noor: What is your best type of music?
Mr. Khalil: (With a smile on his face) I like romantic music.
Noor: Your favorite food?
Mr. Khalil: Mezza – a lebanese dish.
Noor: What about your favorite mo ment in life?
Mr. Khalil: (Giggles). My favorite moment in life was when my family planned a surprise party for me.
Noor: Any regrets in life?
Mr. Khalil: No, no regrets. My highlight is to look forward to a new day.

Talking with others

The person I am talking about is my mom. She had an interesting memory at the age of eleven, so I asked her to talk about it. Once at the age of eleven, my mom broke her leg. It wasn’t a nice memory to her but interesting in that age.
She was playing with her friends in an empty swimming pool and she was wearing a brand new pair of sandals. Suddenly, she slipped and broke her leg. Then, she started crying.
Her friends had to call for help, they took her home and called the doctor. The doctor put a cast on her leg for one month, so she couldn’t move or play. How sad but interesting. That was the end of the story.

Motivation

The best way to have students learn is to motivate them to learn. Many Children have considered they have no reason to learn because theylack motivation.
Children who are not doing well in school because they refuse to learn can be helped by being motivated. For example I have a friend his name is Faith. He doesn’t get good grades, but because of his parent’s motivation he knows he has to try his best to keep up to his parents expectation and hope .
Motivation is not a hard task to do. Most parents believe that motivation means maybe buying toys or other things for your children in order to motivate them to learn. Motivation can be talking to the child if he is not doing well or praising him if he is doing well.

Hunted
My eyes were bulging out. My mouth was watering. My ears were pointing only in one direction, towards the helpless prey! I was crouched down to the ground, with my heels up ready to pounce on the prey.
All of a sudden the earth began to shake and rumble! Something wasn’t right. As I turned back, the rabbit was gone; my heart was pounding. My ears were pointing in all directions, and my eyes grew with fear. The one thing that all foxes feared had come upon me.
I began to hear the barking echoing through my ears. I knew what was coming. I ran as fast as I could back to my den. I had to be quick because my den was far. I heard the barking and yelping of the dogs and the hooves of the horses getting closer. The strange language of the humans shouting was also getting very close. Thank goodness I knew I was safe because my den was a couple of miles away. The only thing that could stop me now was the black stone. The humans would carry a long, smooth stick that would throw black stones. The other foxes said that they could eat through your body.
Finally I reached home, but then I heard a bang! One black stone had gone through my leg. I had just reached the den. Everything was lost until my mate ran out of the den, saved my life by sacrificing her own. The dogs followed her, with the humans behind them.
As I crawled into the den, I heard a thunderous roar. I knew that meant only one thing; I was to look after the cubs alone.
